And now for some ramble about... music! =w= Well, not ramble, just some random thoughts about my particular preferences when it comes to the music I like to listen to.
I tend to be heavily influenced by melody rather than lyrics. That is, for example, I have a really, really, really hard time liking a good chunk of the 'mainstream' music these days, particularly, I find myself at terrible odds with Hip Hop. Even worse when I can actually understand it, the music just does not flow for me.
I love songs with good lyrics just like anyone else, but for the most part, what moves me is a melody, so many times I fall in love with vocal songs where I don't usually understand the lyrics simply because the melody along with the singer's intonation tickle me pink, and even though I can understand the lyrics many times, the way it's sung accompanying the music what makes the damn song be 'a winner' for me.
So many times I tend to be attracted to purely instrumental music, and that has a lot of a heavy influence into what I draw or write a lot of the time, hence why you see many pictures that are lableled by me 'song plays, picture happens'. I get flashes of inspiration just like that. Sometimes it's incredibly silly (Yuke! Yuke, yuke GatchaJazz~!) and sometimes it can be angsty or it can be sweet and fluffy, or angry and violent, epic, scary, etc.
Music moves me so much, that 'no music, no life' really cuts it for me. Granted... it has to be certain music. =w= And now, I must attend to the muses demands and go back to drawing!
Watch these awesome Deviants I say! More people to be added soon.

There's also Stevie Nicks--her voice isn't "pretty" so much as unique and emotional and deep, and her lyrics are poetry.
I'd much rather listen to something with metaphors than hearing "Gimme gimme gimme more" over and over and over AND OVER...
I noticed your bit on "No music, no life" well I agree *points to my signature*
